Reports: how to configure, generate and manage them through AI-Dash PRO

Welcome back to our tutorials, in this section we will have a proper look into the reports section of AI-Dash PRO and in particular we will touch base on:

The report section

You can find the Report section in the main menu on the left hand side of the home page as highlighted in the picture below

How to configure a report

In the "Configuration" page from the Report menu we can access to all the reports configuration previously set and by pressing on:

New Report

it will be possible to configure a new report

Pressing on New Report will give you access to the following page, from which you can create a new report configuration

There are many fields to fill up ...
Lets have a closer look to every single one of them:

  • Name: choose a name for your report inside AI-DashPRO, this field is mandatory;
  • Language the language to set for the reports
  • Subject the subject of the email to send
  • Message the message to include in the mail
  • Header: the user can set up a custom header for the PDF file, if none is loaded an AI-Tech
  • Footer: the user can set up a custom footer for the PDF file, if none is loaded an AI-Tech
  • Sensor Type: select the sensor type related to an event (i.e. loitering, people counting etc.), after this selection only the devices that supports that type of event will be loaded in the below menu;
  • Device: the drop-down menu will now show all the devices already attached to AI-DashPRO that supports the event selected previously in the Sensor Type
  • Sensor: select the sensor to be showed on the report from the one attached to the selected Device ones of the sensors, the selected device is provided by choosing it through a drop-down menu;
  • Temporal Resolution: the time slot of the events collection; minute, hour, day and week are available, hour is the default case;
  • Check-boxes: select what would you like to be showed on your report

    • Chart allows to show the events data onto the report on a Chart;
    • Table allows to show the events data onto the report on a Table;
    • Images allows to show the images linked to the data onto the report; default one will be used;
  • Add/Remove Device: allows to add/remove other devices and sensors to be showed inside the same report;

Once you have customized all your report fields hit Create to save the configuration.

How to generate a report

You can generate a report by going to Report section in the main menu on the left hand side of the home page. In this section, as mentioned before, you can see the list of all the reports previously configured.
By clicking on the paper plane icon (light blue) you can generate a report:

To generate a single report

Once clicked on the paper plane icon a pop-up window will happear and you can choose:

  • Notifiers: Choose one of the account, from the ones previously set in the Notifiers area of AI-DashPRO, to be notified via email.
    (To know more about Notifiers please visit the "Notifiers" page of this tutorial)
  • Number of Days: Choose on how many days would you like the report to be run. The choice is from 1 day up to 7 days. (The default choice is 1 day)

Clicking on Submit, AI-DashPRO will generate and send an email, with the report attached, to the notifier selected.

Please BE AWARE!

  • The report size can be quite big sometimes, especially when you decide to attach the images to it, hence the email service provider might not allow to attach the report.

Don't worry... Keep calm...

  • In any case, to keep track of the generated reports, AI-DashPRO will always save a copy in the Generated reports section
  • Any generated reports will be available to visualize on AI-Dash PRO "once built", the building time depends on the amount of the data to aggregate.

Set a periodic report

In the "Subscription" page from the Report menu we can access to all the periodic reports previously set and by clicking on:

New Periodic Report

it will be possible to set a new periodic report.

Pressing on New Periodic Report will give you access to the following page, from which you can create a new periodic report configuration

Lets have a closer look to every single field of the form:

  • Name: choose a name for your periodic report, this field is mandatory;
  • Reports: choose a report to be sent periodically, from the ones previously created.
  • Notifiers: choose one of the account, from the ones previously set in the Notifiers area of AI-DashPRO, to be notified via email.
    (To know more about Notifiers please visit the "Notifiers" page of this tutorial)
  • Interval: choose how often would you like to receive the report. The choice is between 1 a day and 1 a week. (the default choice is 1 a day)
  • Day: choose which day of the week would you like to receive the report. Please note, this field will be only showed if the Interval chosen is 1 week.
  • HH: & MM: choose the exact time of the day to when to receive your report.

Once you have customized all the fields hit Create to save the configuration.

Manage your reports

It is also possible to amend and/or delete a report configuration, in particular you can:

  • Edit by pressing on the dark blue icon it's possible to modify a report configuration.
  • Delete by pressing on the red icon it's possible to delete a report configuration

Of course the same can be done with the periodic reports, in particular you can:

  • Edit by pressing on the dark blue icon it's possible to modify a periodic report configuration.
  • Delete by pressing on the red icon it's possible to delete a periodic report configuration

As previously stated in the Generated Reports area will be stored all the generated reports. It's possible to manage every single report as follow:

  • Download by pressing on the dark blue icon it's possible to download a report.
  • Delete by pressing on the red icon it's possible to delete a report.
