Working with notifiers

Welcome back to our AI-Dash PRO tutorials.
AI-Dash PRO can also be used as an HUB to send across reports, alarm and message over different channels

Let's see in more details which channels can we use:

You can find the menu Notifiers in the left hand side menu under the Configuration section:

Set-up a notifier EMAIL

Let's set-up an EMAIL notifier. Once you're in the Notifiers menu, just click on E-Mail in order to have access to the email notifier page. From here you can see the notifier already created, and obviously create a NEW notifier.

From this page you can also amend the notifier created in terms of:

  • Edit to amend some information regarding the notifier (i.e. add a receiver)
  • Add to system Alert the notifier created can be added to the System Notifier, those ones will receive notification in regards system issue, such as:

    • General System Issue
    • Camera disconnected notifications
    • License about to expire.
  • Delete to cancel the notifier created

Clicking on New EMAIL notifier

you can create a new notifier, let's see in the specific what fields do we need to fill up.

  • Name the notifier name

    • Enable this must be ticked off in order to activate the notifier.
    • Enable attachment to enable the attachments.
    • Enable TLS/SSL to enable the TLS/SSL protocol.
  • Username the username for the email account
  • Password the password for the email account
  • SMTP Address the SMTP url
  • SMTP Port the SMTP port
  • E-mail Sender
  • Recipients can be more than one, please ensure that each email address is divide by a ";" semi-colon

NOTE: the Enable check box is been created to give the user the opportunity to create several notifiers and then deactivate / activate them on request without having to create and delete them all the time.

Let's set-up an FTP notifier. Once you're in the Notifiers menu, just click on FTP in order to have access to the email notifier page. From here you can see the notifier already created, and obviously create a NEW notifier.

  • Username the username for the ftp server
  • Password the password for the ftp server
  • FTP Server the url or IP address of the FTP server
  • FTP Port the FTP port
  • Csv Delimiter
  • Destination file path the file path destination on the server
  • File Prefix the file prefix

NOTE: the Enable check box is been created to give the user the opportunity to create several notifiers and then deactivate / activate them on request without having to create and delete them all the time.

Set-up a notifier HTTP

Let's set-up an HTTP notifier. Once you're in the Notifiers menu, just click on HTTP in order to have access to the email notifier page. From here you can see the notifier already created, and obviously create a NEW notifier.

  • Edit to amend some information regarding the notifier
  • Delete to cancel the notifier created

  • Name the notifier name

    • Enable this must be ticked off in order to activate the notifier.
    • Enable https to enable the secure connection.
  • Username the username to access the server
  • Password the password to access the server
  • Http Server (IP) you can either add the IP address or just the url of the server.
  • Http Server (Port) the server port
  • Server Path the path the the page that needs to be notified
  • Server Query string the query string

all the HTTP requests are made with the GET method

NOTE: the Enable check box is been created to give the user the opportunity to create several notifiers and then deactivate / activate them on request without having to create and delete them all the time.

Let's see where to use a notifier

All the notifiers created can be used for multiple purpose anywhere in the Dashboard.

  • The first use we cam have is to set the notifier for systems alert clicking on Add to system Alert the notifier created can be added to the System Notifier, those ones added here will receive notification in regards system issue, such as:

    • General System Issue
    • Camera disconnected notifications
    • License about to expire
    • Free disk space monitoring

  • We can use notifiers to receive reports and periodic reports. More information here
